Basel: Quetta had stillbirth

Sad news from the Basel Zoo: the baby of the 17-year-old rhino Quetta came on the night of 13 on 14th July 2010 dead to the world. The birth itself went quickly and without complications. Why the baby was born dead, an autopsy will clarify. After Batschii daughter, born 2nd September 2004, currently living in Madrid, it was the second baby of Quetta.

In the coming days, Quetta is the baby of Ellora, 28 years old, mother of expected. I hope all goes well with her ...

As in 2004, when mother and daughter from Bulle Jaffna shortly after each other were coming, so also this time with two ladies of the Jaffna Papa. In the final phase of gestation, the rhino cow understood not this year anymore. They had to be separated. So for one of them a few hours outside in the pool, the other inside the house, then were virtually changed places.
